CHECKING STEPS BEFORE USING

  1. Ensure that the direction of rotation of the motor is correct (Switch on and face the motor head, make sure motor is counterclockwise rotating; then switch off the motor)
  2. Check that a petrol or diesel engine is running not over 3,000 r/min.
  3. Check loose parts. Tighten all loose parts before operating the unit.
  4. Make sure flexible hose is in good condition. Do not operate vibrator with torn hose

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Insert hose connector into coupling. Connect the hose connector to the coupling.
  2. Turn on engine/motor.
  3. Put vibrator into concrete and slowly move vibrator around. Air bubbles and water will rise to concrete surface.
  4. When air bubbles and water stop emerging and concrete surface is smooth and level, pullout vibrator and turnoff engine/motor.

IMPORTANT TIPS

  1. Do keep the flexible drive as straight as possible and ensure that it does not twist or knot.
  2. Never engage a poker vibrator drive to an engine that is running. Many accidents happen because of running engine.
  3. When vibrating concrete, avoid leaving poker vibrators in the same place for excessive periods.
  4. During operation, make sure flexible hose does not bend more than 60 degree. Over bending of hose during operation will increase stress and friction on inner shaft, causing damage to both inner shaft and rubber hose.
  5. When finishing concrete vibrating, switch off the motor.
  6. The vibrator should not be laid on the ground and left running while waiting for the next batch of concrete to avoid overheating bearings inside poker head.
  7. Never leave the vibrator drive hung over scaffolding or such resting places.
  8. Do not drive over the flexible drive.
  9. Never drag the power unit arcund the site by the flexible drive.
  10. Never run the poker vibrator at speeds in excess of 3000 rpm, this will cause to premature failure of the unit.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Vibrators must be handled with care, and be properly maintained in order to avoid unnecessary failure.

  1. Clean vibrator and drive unit right after every operation. After each cleaning, wipe the vibrator with oil to prevent rusting.
  2. If concrete vibrator units is to be stored alone (detach from drive unit), wrap hose connector with a plastic bag to prevent dust and water from getting in.
  3. Never stack heavy objects on top of concrete vibrator unit to prevent damage of flexible hose.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

  1. We recommend that the poker and drive should be serviced at regular
intervals, every 150 hours. In arduous situation this should be reduced
    to every 100 hours.
  2. Check components are tight regularly.

ASSEMBLY / DISMANTLE POKER

  1. Hold the poker body in a vice. Unscrew the poker nose and the othes parts, taking care not to damage the thread. (left hand thread).
  2. Drive out the bearing and oil seal. Examine bearings and oft seats. inspection reveals that grease of transmission has penetrated into the head, the oil seals need to be replaced.
  3. Thoroughly clean all the components ind pay particular ac the bore.
  4. Apply the right amount of the Grease (3 # lithium grease) to the bearing.
  5. Install the bearing and oil seal using the appropriate fit tools. if the bearing is damaged, fit a new bearing.
  6. ENSURE THE TAPER AT THE END OF THE ROTOR AND THE BORE OF THE POKER NOSE ARE CLEAN, DRY AND FREE OF ANY LUBRICANT
  7. Screw the nose and the other parts (left-hand thread) into the poker body.It is essential that the nose, bearing housing and body are extremely tight, if dismantled a small amount of thread-locking agent should be used to lock tight.

FLEXIBLE SHAFTDRIVE SERVICING
